Rick Lange Memorial playground

#1 Post by rowdy1 »

Fellow Members I bring sad news of the passing of Rick Lange. His son called me this afternoon ,with the news that he went to be with his maker early this morning. Rick had been battling an aggressive form of cancer that was only found around Thanksgiving and claimed his life so quick. Jason Lange told me of Ricks love of the prospecting clubs and of the Swank claim ,where his grandchildren happily played on the swingset. unfortunately oversize children destroyed the playground equipment. At the last Buckeye chapter meeting that he attended, Rick took on the job of getting some new equipment. True to his word ,Rick had an unfinished job, so he had chosen to defer his funeral flowers or donations , asking that all such gestures be instead donated for new playground equipment to be installed at the Swank claim. A mans integrity and actions are all that are truely his in life, and Rick has left some mighty big footprints. Thank you and R.I.P. Rick and Thank You to all the Lange family!

Rick will be missed by many. Every time that we had Grayson with us you would find Rick walking around with him. He really enjoyed being out camping - prospecting or just playing with the children that happened to be where he was.
As for his task of getting the play ground equipment the OSPA will contribute to the cause to insure it gets completed.

sorry for the inconvenience, but info unavailable at the first posting, our nonprofit status will not allow a second account to be formed for the playground fund donations , it will need to go into the general fund, and be accounted as playground expendatures. because of federal laws it will be necessary to have checks payable to the Buckeye Chapter or Gold Prospectors of Ohio ,and memoed as a donation for the Rick Lange Playground.

Carol has asked that I post this:

Due to difficulties setting up the account with First Knox National Bank an account has been created at Fifth Third Bank entitled the Rick Lange Memorial Fund. Please direct your donation to any Fifth Third Bank and make checks payable to Rick Lange Memorial Fund or bring them with you to the visitation on Monday at McGorray-Hanna Funeral Home in Westlake.
Thank you for all help and prayers!
Carol Lange

The account is hard to find for the average Fifth Third bank as they can't easily search for memorial funds and this one hasn't been added to the list correctly, this reference number will make it easier for your local Fifth Third bank to find the correct account. 7523826498

Sure was a busy swing over the week end. Rick would be proud of the way it turned out.
Good job to all that was involved getting it completed in time for the event.
